Beat the Weight and Perimenopausal symptoms (So worth it!)

eddeb9f6-0643-4c5f-8e09-fae09121ca3e

An early morning cardio core workout really got the sweat moving and the core burning! These exercise sliders are the total bomb!??. Feeling accomplished today with this workout. Officially done day 23 of 80✅ of current challenge!

I remember when I was battling with my weight over the years… 190-200 lb most of the time on my 5’9” frame was too much to carry around! My knees and my back suffered big time and I felt like I would never get better. I went through SO many diets like atkins, Somers, Mediterranean and so many more in a yo-yo fashion and was never ever able to keep the weight off!

I thank god for the day 3 years ago that I realized how truly out of shape and miserable I was! I did some cartwheels on the lawn then suffered with severe pain for more than 2 weeks after that! At that time, I knew I was about I become a new grandma and did NOT want to be a fat, lazy, boring and out of shape granny! No way! I wanted energy and to be fun to run around and play with!

I discovered p90x through a friend and ended up losing over 40 pounds and keeping it off by using superfood nutrition and by staying on track with different fitness challenges and nutrition plans to keep things interesting! (I get bored easily) …I even started running and did a number of 10 km runs and my knee and back pain got completely better!

Getting into shape and losing weight totally changed my life!! I am now pain free, have energy to run with my grandson and am keeping the weight off. It not only transformed me on the outside, but the biggest changes are on the inside! Being happy all the time is a great way to live!  …and totally getting rid of all those perimenopausal symptoms this way!

If you are  looking for a much better way to get into shape and feel the best you have ever felt in your life, message me and I can help you get started. Seriously, the accountability, support and success with this program is totally worth it!

Health and Fitness for You (Yes You!)

e43d0e16-8f91-418c-b18d-b43af4acbe41

Day 10 of 80 of current fitness challenge is officially complete!✅.

These workouts are definitely powerful at toning and sculpting the entire body from head to toe!  Totally loving this 80 day challenge!   After doing 60 minutes of booty work yesterday just using an exercise band, I am amazed at how sore those butt muscles are today!

The biggest challenge for me in any program is to follow the nutrition system for a program 100%.   So far, I am keeping up with the nutrition plan about 60% but I need to improve on this.   For the next 10 days, I am going to try setting some short term nutrition goals and see if that helps me out. The nutrition plan I am on now with the 80-day challenge is designed so that you eat certain food types every 3 hours during the day.  I am finding it challenging to stay on point being on the road doing house calls since I have no way of heating up a meal in my car. Thus, I am feeling kind of stuck having cold food choices which I am getting tired of.  I have to find some new cold food options for myself to keep me going!  What is your biggest challenge in sticking with a program?   What are some good cold healthy food choices (besides salad)?

I have 70 more days to go to complete this program. I know I can do it! The support and accountability group we have around us is amazing! What are you doing to improve your health and fitness? Are you looking for a new program that will get you to your goal?

“Decide. Commit. Succeed”. Is what our program is about and people are getting great results with the support network we have for participants.  There are programs for every level of participant from beginner to advanced.  From tai chi and yoga to muscle building, toning programs and intensive cardio.  We have room for you in our program to help you change your life if you are feeling ready?

I heard a quote recently that is really helping me a lot as I go along in my health and fitness journey.  The quote says “Focus on Winning the Day”.  This quote was a good one that woke me up to really focusing on being successful and doing my best for today so that you can be proud of what you have been able to accomplish today.   Sometimes if you focus too far in the future about what you “need” or “want” to accomplish over 3 months, it may be challenging to stick to the plan.   A daily goal of winning the day seems more satisfying and doable as I go along.  What do you think?

Life is like that (but loving my workout partner)

This mornings yoga cardio was topped off by a little participant during the final stretch. Feels great to have him close and he boosts my motivation!

This boy was the big reason why I shifted and realized my health had to be #1 in the first place! I had decided 3 years ago that if I was going to be a Granny, that I better pick up the pace and get into shape! I wanted to be a fun and energetic granny that can run, play soccer, travel and enjoy life with the grandkids and not be old and sick in a chair.

Being on a structured program that taught me better nutrition habits and gave me hundreds of fun and effective workout options was great! I dropped 40 pounds at that time and WOW what a difference in how I felt. I had a little falling off this year with work stress and an illness, but I am back at it and feeling much better!

Life is like that, isn’t it? Get thrown curve balls, challenges …like life has to test you… to see how you react. ?

Regardless, I am so happy I am back on track and feeling happy and positive and energy is climbing! I have my little sidekick here to smile and cheer me in which helps too!
???

Have a wonderful Monday!!

September, A Great Time for Change

img_4410

I got a great sweat on this morning with a yoga and Pilates continuous movement combination work out… It was really tough but I felt great and was dripping sweat afterwards… I never really thought that I would enjoy this type of exercise, but I’m finding out that it is really improving my health and I’m totally loving it!!

September is approaching and I don’t know about you, but I find September is a great time of year to start new things, develop my knowledge, and get creative by implementing new things into my life. I have always felt this way I guess because September is the start of a new school year and it’s just a great time to start implementing change. Some people get nervous about making changes but it truly is exciting if you make yourself do things outside your comfort zone!

Starting in September, I plan to implement a completely new diet regimen, a new exercise plan, and as well implement a new and exciting career in providing healthcare services with my own business. I am adding this to my already existing health business where I help people with fitness, optimizing their nutrition and lifestyle change as a coach … It is all just very exciting …even though it can be scary at times, I am pushing through the fear!

Make September the decision time to make a change in your life! Take a course! Start a new health plan! Revamp your financial plan! Dig into that relationship you have been afraid to take to the next level! Make a career change! Start a new business!

Do something to make fall time exciting! It makes the transition to winter much easier when you are feeling fulfilled, energized, healthy, happy and passionate about something you love!

FYI… My job as a FREE coach is to help you select the health program that will best help you achieve your goals… Be sure to contact me to discuss!

New Beginnings (Its Not Easy)

img_4203

Having to start all over after an extended illness or after falling off the wagon… Is one of the hardest things to do. Not only has the fitness level dropped way off making those work outs really hard again and the loss of endurance and muscle really sucks.   …but also the habit of getting up in the morning and having a set routine and keeping up with the program has all disappeared and it takes a lot of work to get that back again. it is darn hard to implement new habits!!   It seems that habits are easy to lose and very hard to build…

Since being sick for a month, I’ve lost a lot of my cardio  endurance and strength… Yesterday,  I made the decision to start doing a yoga and Pilates combination program to maintain strength and flexibility as I heal… Day one of Program is complete ✅.. it was actually a very difficult workout for me today, but I feel accomplished since I was able to do the entire thing… Not without some sweat though?   It feels great to be back at it… But now to maintain this habit for at least 21 to 30 days so that I can get it back again…!

Avoid Reacting to Life (Anticipate, Design and Be Happy!)

img_3846

One thing I have learned is that living life in reactive mode will not contribute much to health and happiness. If a person lets issues and problems that come up all day dictate your actions and decisions, then life and problems will be running you.

Conversely, if you live life by design and anticipate problems ahead of time, then it’s much easier to feel in control of your day. This gives you the chance to lead a pro-active instead of a reactive life! …huge difference!

For me, I know that I will be hungry on the road and will hit a drive through if I am not prepared… so, I pack a cooler of healthy food every single day before I leave home. I also know that once baby wakes up, I won’t be able to get a good workout done, so forcing myself out of bed at 5 am to get it done is a proactive way to ensure it happens and is enjoyable.

There are many other ways to live proactively …be creative and anticipate issues that may come up and be well-prepared to swing with the punches with a smile! I have been learning this and it really is life changing! No more spending my days reacting to one issue after another!   Take some time to think about how much reacting you do in your daily life…you may be surprised!

Have a fabulous Wednesday!!

Consistency is Key to Success

img_3740

One day at a time…one workout at a time… showing up consistently day after day… now this is what leads to achievement and success no matter what area of your life we are talking about ?

Today, I just wrapped up day #90 of a 91 day fitness challenge and am feeling very accomplished and motivated to do more!! Some days it was hard to show up…sick kids, illness, busy lives, fractured toe, hand with torn ligaments, fatigue, soreness…all of these things can happen, but if you are determined enough not to let them interfere with your goals, then you will find a way to get things done. When the determination is strong enough, then really no excuse is valid.

One last day tomorrow of stretching and recovery then am starting the next 8-week challenge of a body beast / insanity Max 30 hybrid. Man, it looks like it is going to be tough, but it is going to be worth it! The feeling of achievement in accomplishing a goal is like no other!

Now to plan out the reward for completing this 91-day fitness challenge…I think perhaps a spa day is in order!??

Do you have a plan to achieve your goals?  Would you like some help with goal setting that works?  Feel free to contact me for help or if you have questions!

Regrets from Cheating (So Not Worth It!)

Push myself for extra calorie burn after having bad diet
Push myself for extra calorie burn after having bad diet

After 2 days of crappy eating, my energy is very low today! Bloat certainly adds a lot of weight when trying to do push-ups and jumping! Argh!

Regrets!! When you are not used to eating high salt foods then eat a bunch of salty popcorn and a couple drinks…you pay the price with swelling in legs, hands, abdominal bloat and NO energy!! Next time I will stick to tea and veggies!! It will likely take a few days to get back to normal now.

I guess if I were to find a positive from this, it would be that having a high calorie day may help my body have a higher metabolism for our fitness challenge this week!  FAT BURN!!

Despite these issues this morning, I forced myself out of bed, got an MMA kick butt workout and some yoga done over an hour. I do feel a bit better after exercising but have a few more workouts to do yet to work off all that crap. Day 77 of current 91 day challenge done ✅ plus day 14 of our 21 day challenge ✅. Now I am deserving of some superfood nutrition and will drink lots of water to flush the junk out today…

Now to hop in shower and head to work at the clinic for the day! Have a great day! ?

Push Play to Prevent Disease (It’s a Must)

not easy, fatigue makes it super hard some days to get it done
not easy, fatigue makes it super hard some days to get it done

NO QUITTING is what I had to tell myself over and over this morning when my alarm was going off at 430 am and I felt like a tonne of bricks. My head was heavy and could hardly lift it off the pillow. It truly took everything I had to get up and put on workout clothes and shoes today.

This is the beauty of home workouts…I threw my hair into a pony tail, pushed PLAY and got through the 40 min power workout the best I could and now am DONE my workout for the day!   …Being this tired, I never would have made it out to a gym with all the extra travel time and inconvenience…no way…  Day 69 of my current 91 day fitness challenge is complete!

All I have to do each and every day is tell myself to PUSH PLAY and with no pressure to perform or be perfect. “Just get down there, push play and do your best” is what I tell myself and it works! ??

What are you doing for your health to prevent diseases and to maintain a healthy weight? Fitness work is not easy but it is worth it. It’s not easy having a heart attack or a stroke either…my opinion is that it’s better to do the work now to prevent those from happening in the first place! It’s also not easy looking in the mirror if you are unhappy with how you look or feel. Take a few minutes to make a serious decision to optimize your health and message me to get started today!

An Accountability Coach + Self Discipline = Success

img_3490

I remember those days when I only did things when I felt like doing them. It really didn’t do me any good since I was 40 pounds overweight and miserable. Learning self-discipline has been the key to success in all areas of my life. Self-discipline is doing things because you know you need to even if you really don’t want to. This morning, I really didn’t feel like getting out of bed at 430 am, but I pushed myself downstairs to get it done and definitely no regrets!

Getting those morning workouts and superfood in every day definitely sets the positive and energizing tone for the day and I love how it feels! The bonus is that it also moves me closer to my goals at the same time?

Do you have health goals for yourself that you would like to achieve? Consider getting yourself a free coach (like me) to help you out on your journey. For me, having an accountability coach was totally what I needed to be successful for the long term! It may be for you as well?
