Tapping into the power of appreciation

Hey there, amazing souls!

Today, I’m diving into a topic that turned my life around – the magical journey from survival mode to whatever success feels like. I used to be caught up in the daily grind, stuck in a loop of expectations and procrastination. It felt like life was dragging me along, and I was surviving, not thriving.

But guess what? I found the secret to opening up a whole new level of living, and it starts with a simple yet incredible shift – trading expectations for appreciation. ????

Expectations: The Silent Stress Creators

Let’s rewind a bit. I was your classic perfectionist, always setting the bar ridiculously high for myself. Every project, every goal, every day had to be flawless. But here’s the catch – chasing perfection is like chasing a rainbow’s end that keeps moving. You never quite catch it, leaving you feeling burnt out, stressed, and constantly doubting yourself.

Once I realized I was setting expectations for myself higher and higher so that it was never reachable, I was so blown away at the AHA moment!!!! I had been blind to it! I just called myself “ambitious”, “hard-working,” and a person with “high standards”…..well, I called BS on myself!!

Real life rarely matches those expectations….it simply brings on anger… stress… frustration, and, yes…more disappointment. And maybe even complete burnout before we realize what we are doing to ourselves. Yup…i was there too…

The Turning Point: Embracing Imperfections

One day, it hit me – expectations were the root of my suffering. I stumbled upon some motivational podcasts, and they talked about the beauty of spontaneity and imperfections and the freedom of letting go. It was like a light bulb moment. What if I was OK with imperfections and appreciated the journey instead of setting the bar higher and higher with crazy or unrealistic expectations?

I also learned that my overworking, really poor life balance and obsession with achieving was a direct result of my low self-worth and a need to prove over and over by achieving that I was actually worth something. How do you think it felt to discover this one?

OMG! I thought I truly was a “hard worker” and a “high-achiever”! and yes I certainly was…but not for the reasons I thought!! I was delusional!

Breaking Free from the Perfectionism Trap

I took a deep breath and decided to break free from the perfectionism and overworking trap. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t an overnight success. I started small, setting realistic goals and learning to appreciate each step, no matter how imperfect. Slowing down for me was painful…to stop and sit still was so difficult!!

The Procrastination-Procrastination Loop

Expectations and procrastination are so interconnected… feeding off each other’s negative energy. I found myself hesitating to start projects, fearing imperfection. But here’s the truth: expectations fuel procrastination. It was time to break the loop.

I also had such huge expectations for myself that I was causing myself to screech to a halt, and I could often get started, but then I would get stuck in the “how” and get caught in procrastination.

Mindful Living: From Expectations to Appreciation

So now…speaking of “mindfulness,” which is simply just getting quiet, breathing into your heart space and being in the present moment… I started practicing being present in the moment, appreciating what I had right now.

Mindfulness was like a reset button, helping me silence the noise, breathe, and appreciate the simplicity of the present.

To get to that state was VERY hard for me. I literally had to start with 1 minute, then gradually increase until I got to 10 min, 12 min, then 20 min and once I was actually able to quiet my mind…I was blown away by how peaceful I felt. It was like a feeling I never had my whole life since I was always working, thinking, on the hamster wheel, and NEVER sitting down!

The Power of Small Goals

I switched my focus from huge, ridiculous, unachievable goals and expectations to small, realistic ones. Every little achievement became a cause for celebration. It was so freeing to realize that progress was about enjoying the journey, not just achieving and reaching the end goals. So much less pressure!

From Self-Criticism to Self-Compassion

Most importantly, I learned to have grace and patience and to be kind to myself.

The cycle of self-criticism and fear of failure was replaced with self-compassion. I understood that I deserved breaks, moments of quiet introspection, and appreciation for who I am. This did NOT happen overnight and certainly NOT until I was able to relax and do nothing for at least 20 min! Hypnosis was a HUGE factor for me in getting to this point. It’s a very powerful tool!

Transformative Results

The results? Life-changing. I felt a profound sense of peace, freedom from the heavy burden of overworking, perfectionism, and being so focused on achieving and increased productivity! (yes, i was focused on that…literally ALL the time!)

I could breathe, relax, and, most importantly, appreciate my life journey and even get back to enjoying the other areas of my life that had been neglected while overworking. friends, family, and so much more had been totally neglected!

Join the Journey of Transformation

So, here I am, sharing my story with you. If you’re tired of the survival mode, the stress, and the constant chase for achievement and perfection, it’s time for a change.

It may be high time for you to go on that journey from the hamster wheel of achievement, perfectionism, frustration with procrastination…and finally go on this journey from survival mode to whatever success means to you, from expectations to appreciation.

And hey, if you want a helping hand to kick procrastination out of your life and tap into the transformative power of relaxation and appreciation, I’m here for you. Let’s change your story and those delusions. Hypnosis combined with coaching works …and FAST!

Life is too short to be in survival mode. take a good hard look at your life…It’s time to thrive. ????

Cheers to spontaneity, relaxation, imperfections, small victories, and a life of many facets (spiritual, family, friends, work, health, financial, relationships and more) that we can actually enjoy!

Warmly,

Diane

Say NO, or Your Body Will

Hey there Folks,

Today, I want to share a personal story – a journey that took me from just surviving to truly thriving. It’s a journey of self-discovery, setting boundaries, and finding the courage to be authentic. So, grab a cup of tea, get comfy, and let’s dive in.

The Power of Saying No

Have you ever felt like you couldn’t say no? Like saying yes to everyone was the only way to be liked and accepted? I’ve been there. In the latest podcast, I talked about the profound impact of uttering a simple but powerful word: “No.”

It’s not about becoming a hermit or rejecting everyone. It’s about realizing that saying no is a radical act of self-love. It’s about setting boundaries that honor your well-being. Trust me; it’s a game-changer.

Childhood Beliefs and the Puppet Strings

We all carry beliefs from our childhood, whether we realize it or not. These beliefs become like invisible puppet strings, guiding our actions and decisions. In my own journey, I’ve learned that understanding these strings is the first step to breaking free.

We unintentionally train people to expect things from us, moulding ourselves to fit into expectations. But here’s the thing – realizing this is liberating. It’s like taking the reins back and deciding who you want to be.

The Body’s Silent Messages

Our bodies are incredible messengers. When we don’t communicate our boundaries, our bodies do it for us. I shared my story of physical pain in the podcast today HERE, from neck issues to stomach troubles, all linked to unexpressed emotions.

Imagine living with pain, not knowing it’s your body’s way of screaming for attention. It was only when I connected the dots that I realized the deep link between suppressed emotions and physical discomfort. The GOOD NEWS: It’s not a life sentence.

Hypnotherapy: Opening the Door to Change

Picture this: a tool that helps you peel away layers of hidden beliefs, a key to unlocking self-awareness and embracing your true self. That’s what hypnotherapy became for me.

It’s not about swinging a pendulum in front of your eyes. It’s a tool for digging into your subconscious, uncovering beliefs you didn’t even know were there. This self-awareness is where the magic happens, where real transformation begins.

From People-Pleaser to Freedom Seeker

Saying no isn’t always easy. Sometimes, people in your life won’t like it. But here’s the truth – as we grow and evolve, some relationships may change and fall away. And that’s okay. It’s a natural part of the journey.

Imagine a life where you’re not constantly trying to please everyone, where you’re not afraid to disappoint. It’s a life of freedom. And trust me, that freedom is worth every bit of the journey.

The Ultimate Goal: Freedom

The ultimate goal in this journey? Freedom. Freedom from unhealthy beliefs, freedom from people-pleasing cycles, and freedom from the fear of being disliked. It’s a journey that’s healed not just my mind but my body too.

So, why am I sharing this with you? Because I believe everyone deserves to know that this kind of freedom is possible. It’s not about being a superhero; it’s about being authentically you.

In Conclusion

This journey from survival to success isn’t about reaching some massive goal. It’s about the daily steps, the small wins, and the courage to be yourself. If you’ve read this far, I hope my story sparks a curiosity in you to explore your own journey.

Remember, you’re not alone on this path. We’re all in this together.

Sending warmth and courage your way,

Diane

4 Key ways to Get your MOJO back after an injury or obstacles

Overcoming Obstacles and Injuries on Your Health Journey: A Guide to Emotional RESET when things get tough

Today, I discuss the challenging road to recovery from injuries and the obstacles that can disrupt your health journey. It’s all about maintaining a positive mindset, building resilience, and overcoming setbacks with unwavering determination.

In life, we often encounter hurdles that can set us back, whether it’s a nagging injury or external obstacles that interfere with our fitness goals. The key to success lies in your ability to adapt and stay motivated, even when faced with difficulty.

I find myself inspired to discuss this topic today because, like many of you, I’m currently dealing with an injury. It’s a significant hip injury that occurred just two days ago. This injury has disrupted my physical activity routine, which, for me, is essential. I have a deep connection to moving my body; it’s one of my sources of energy and positivity. When I can’t engage in physical activity, I feel stagnant and unhappy.

However, setbacks happen to everyone. Whether it’s a fracture, a strained muscle, or life circumstances interfering with your fitness journey, they can all be challenging to navigate.

Let me share my recent experience. I decided to take on a 10K race to honour my late grandmother, a dedicated runner. I trained to the best of my ability but encountered injuries along the way. Then, with the arrival of winter, I transitioned from outdoor road running to a treadmill (YUCK to snow and cold!). On my first treadmill run, I experienced a slight discomfort in my hip, but I thought nothing of it.

The next day, I could barely walk due to severe pain in my hip. I was frustrated, unable to perform my daily workout routine or walk without limping, and felt hopeless. I was spiralling into negative thinking, thinking my life was over. I felt drained emotionally, physically, and mentally.

It’s in moments like these that we need to regain control of our thoughts and beliefs. Maintaining a positive mindset is crucial because what you believe affects your body’s ability to heal. So, how did I shift my perspective and regain hope?

  1. Seek Support: I reached out to my sister for a fresh perspective and guidance. Sometimes, when we’re in a negative thought spiral, an outside perspective can help us reframe our thinking and overcome our mental barriers. We can also reach out to a supportive friend who will tell it like it is – will kick your butt (not someone that supports you being in victim mode!!). Or, reach out to people in your health community (such as our Health Reset Warriors!)
  2. Embrace Adaptation: When obstacles disrupt your routine, be open to adapting. Accept that your fitness journey might need to take a different path for a while. Explore alternative forms of exercise and stay active in a way that accommodates your current situation.
  3. Professional Guidance: Don’t hesitate to seek professional help, whether it’s a physiotherapist for your physical recovery or a coach or hypnotherapist to help shift your beliefs. Professionals can and will guide you to a faster and more effective recovery.
  4. Manage Emotions: Be mindful of your emotional state and thought patterns. Avoid spiralling into negativity and hopelessness. Focus on what’s possible, accept your situation, and maintain a positive belief (with a powerful knowing) that you’ll overcome your obstacles.

By sharing my journey, I hope to inspire you to overcome your own health and fitness obstacles. Remember that setbacks are part of the human experience. Even the best athletes in the world have setbacks!! The support of a community, a fresh perspective, and maintaining a positive belief in your recovery will help you move forward stronger.

Please share your experiences with us and let’s support each other on this challenging but rewarding health journey. Together, we can conquer any obstacle and emerge even stronger. Thank you for being part of the Health Warrior community, and stay tuned for the next post!

The Critical Link Between Health and Success after age 50.

Have you ever found yourself putting in a lot of effort towards self-improvement, trying various techniques like coaching, therapy, and more, yet still feeling like something’s missing? Especially if you’re over 40 or 50, you might have noticed that the transformational journey isn’t as smooth as it used to be. This blog post dives into a game-changing realization: achieving your goals and finding peace and joy is intricately tied to how you treat your body.

The Turning Point: Resetting Your Approach

Despite all the inner work, a crucial factor often gets overlooked – how you nourish and care for your body. The foods you eat, the liquids you consume, and how you move your body play a pivotal role in your transformational journey. It’s no longer about age-old methods of pushing through; it’s about resetting your entire approach.

A Matter of Input: What You Consume Matters

What you put into your body becomes the building blocks of your energy and overall well-being. Over 40 and especially over 50, your body undergoes significant changes, making it far less forgiving of unhealthy choices. Processed foods, excessive sugar, artificial additives, and trans fats wreak havoc on your body’s delicate balance. These substances are foreign to your system and can lead to various health issues.

Exercise: More Than Physical Fitness

Physical activity is not just about looking fit; it’s about igniting your body’s natural rejuvenation process. As you age, circulation and metabolism slow down, making regular exercise vital. It’s not about running marathons; even simple movements can stimulate sweat glands, detoxify your body, and improve your overall vitality.

The Foundation of Transformation: Health

Picture your health as the solid foundation on which the house of your dreams stands. Just as a shaky foundation affects the entire structure, neglecting your health can hinder your personal development journey. Whether your goals involve relationships, wealth, energy, or well-being, health is the cornerstone. It’s the catalyst that propels all other parts of your transformation forward.

Introducing the 8-Week Health Reset Challenge

Imagine a program designed to empower you to take charge of your health, regardless of your lifestyle. Whether you’re a traveller, nomad or a camper-dweller, this program accommodates everyone. It’s not another impractical diet plan; it’s a toolkit for shifting both your body and mind towards positive transformation. By aligning your health with your goals, you’ll witness the layers of inner work peeling away faster than you thought possible.

Embracing Holistic Well-being

Chasing quick fixes and relying on chemicals (think pills!) can lead to more harm than good. Instead, consider the wisdom of holistic well-being. Your body has an incredible capacity to heal and balance itself when provided with the right conditions. One example is…Why resort to risky medications when you can holistically manage cholesterol and heart health by making simple dietary adjustments? The same applies to weight, hormones and energy

OK….what now?

Your journey towards realizing your goals and finding inner peace doesn’t have to be a complicated maze. By prioritizing your health, you set the stage for holistic transformation. Belief in Yourself is Everything!

Belief in yourself trumps everything when it comes to achievement in life

In order to achieve great things or things that you perceive as challenging, what it really takes is a firm belief in yourself…

How many times do we let self-doubt get in the way of us achieving something really important? The lack of faith in ourselves can really get in the way of achieving important things in life… It holds us back from making decisions, creates uncertainty, and makes facing fears and having courage much more difficult.

Having self-belief can lead to incredible achievements in health and fitness, marriage, relationships, career, business, making a positive change in the world, and so much more!

When we don’t believe in ourselves, it completely stalls our progress and makes us more sensitive to the critical reviews and opinions around us as we try to move forward…

Belief in yourself creates an unshakeable strength that is more resilient and powerful to allow you achieve anything that you want in life. It will give you power to easily solve problems and find solutions and to live a positive and fulfilled life.

Never underestimate the power of having belief in yourself!

I had a firm belief in myself this morning that I could lift heavier weight to make the most progress with this round of lifting… I just completed day two of week five today sweaty and feeling accomplished after lifting heavy for back and biceps… It’s a great feeling! ?

Take some time today to work on analyzing what areas of your life you’re lacking belief in yourself and really work on this because it will make a huge difference in your life! ( and if you really have a hard time doing this then maybe it’s time to get yourself a coach for some help!)

Choose your Hard (Smile and Say Cheese!)

I pick the “hard” of working on my health.. Its tough, but absolutely worth the effort. 🙂 cheese! 🙂

A picture speaks a thousand words…. And can really help you to see that you’re making progress in the work that you’re doing to improve your health… And… When you do see progress… It jacks up the motivation and keeps you moving forward with a smile…?

This morning… The triceps and the chest really got a butt kicking… The triceps were really pumped up after that and had an impressive look which  made me smile ? ??. After that, I put in a 15 minute HIIT workout to burn some extra fat since I kind of overdid it yesterday on the mixed nuts LOL

Working on your health some days is really hard… and it takes constant work and attention.   But remember that feeling tired, miserable, overweight, and just generally depressed is also very hard (I used to be there and I would rather take this hard!!).  … I say… Pick your hard and decide what’s worth it for you.

For the long term, I’d rather put in the work and be healthy and have good energy and feel positive and motivated for each day.  How about you?  What “hard” are you going to choose?

I would say pick the healthy hard and… As you make progress, take pictures and notice how well you’re doing… And just know that it’s so worth it!  …Say “cheese!” 🙂

Get going to balance hormones! (Become a Fit Grandparent)

Maintaining lean body mass is an important way to maintain a healthy body composition and minimize natural aging!

As we age, we typically lose lean body mass and gain fat mass… It’s a natural change that occurs with our body composition. However, we can fight this by working on maintaining our lean body mass through lifting and burning fat through exercise… When our body composition is more balanced, we naturally have a stronger and more balanced signalling systems in our body which naturally keeps up our energy and our hormone balance as well.

The moment you sit by and allow the natural body composition change to occur, you will see fat build up around the middle, and muscle mass on limbs and body start to decline… Do not let this happen if you can help it!  Fighting this will keep you younger longer, keep you well, and keep up your energy…   If you’re like me… as a grandma, I want to be able to keep up to my three-year-old grandson and I do not want to be sitting in a chair, being tired, lazy, and weak, because my body has aged too much…no thanks!

We can fight this natural aging process and it just takes a bit of work a few times a week to build muscle mass, to reduce fat and to re-balance of hormones and then look and feel much younger as a result!   Incorporating clean/whole food eating lifestyle, adding superfoods and eliminating pop and junk/processed food will get you there even faster!

Without your health, what do you really have?  We all want energy and a sense of well-being and we know how much it changes our life when we feel good!!. Get started now and make a change for the better! Improve the quality of your life, change your body composition, balance those hormones, and build some muscles! It’s not that hard, and it only takes work a few days a week to get it done!

Getting yourself a nutrition and fitness coach can also make all the difference… And I definitely recommend it as it made such a big difference for me. It made such a difference in fact… that I decided to become a coach myself and I even took special training on strategic intervention so that I could be the most effective coach possible for you.

if you have been looking for a completely new approach a new way to get into good shape… Perhaps it’s time to message me and to get onto a program with the support of coach.  Don’t delay..there is no time like NOW to get going and get those hormones and muscles in check!

Grit and Determination Will Get You There

Rolling with punches and challenges, keeping a stiff upper lip, and moving forward with determination and grit helps you to achieve any goal you have

It took absolutely everything I had to get out of bed this morning… After the last two days of the new HIIT and lift program, my shoulders, arms, chest, and especially triceps are super sore and I just feel so tired out.

Before just giving up, I got up and had some energize and some exogenous ketones to fire me up… I waited 15 minutes and then could feel (sort of) enough zip and energy to get myself downstairs to hit play.

Some days, it definitely takes real grit determination and pushing yourself to really get the workout of the day done early in the morning.   Even if you are a person who works out often, starting a new program really fires up muscles you have not been using in the same way!!   This is why starting new programs can really help to break plateau and take fitness to a whole new level!  I am up for this! 🙂

Today, I did an intense 20 min HIIT workout to burn some fat and a 20 min stretch and recovery to prepare myself for the next 2 days of lifting!  Now I feel much better, and ready to face a busy day of work and helping others…

Too Busy is NOT a Valid Excuse

Training week to strengthen and perfect form and build cardio…. perfect program for us busy folks!

The countdown is on to our upcoming 8-week fitness and nutrition challenge…  6 more days until we start!   It’s the perfect program that is great for people who do not have much time, who are busy professionals and often have a hard time fitting workouts and nutrition in to their busy lives (like me!). This workout incorporates muscle building, fat burning, and core work all in 4 short workouts per week.

There really is no excuse not to get into the best shape of your life by using a program such as this.  Nutrition plan is very easy to follow.…   And if you have a coach, it makes it even better… I know this from experience!   Just a little extra support accountability makes all the difference to help a person stay on track!

The other thing that makes a difference is working on personal development at the same time.  A large part of our success is working on mindset, thinking positive, being happy now, and feeling good about yourself.  Part of this will be to work on mindset, which will create success even beyond the 8-week challenge!

Our pre-program training segment is underway and we are all learning proper form and getting our muscles and heart ready for for the real thing starting July 16!   Just this little bit of physical training and mental preparation will make all the difference and build up the momentum to drive us successfully through the 8-week challenge!

If you want to have a piece of this and get connected with a coach to keep you on point and accountable, let me know!   I am at the point where I can only accept 1 or 2 more clients for this program so don’t miss out!
